Antique Noritake Hand Painted "Azalea" Patent #19322 Fine China. 

Pattern Description: Hand Painted, Pink Floral, Patent #19322 (or #252622), Smooth Edge, Gold Trim. Made in Japan ca. 1915 to 1930 (see below).

Maker's Marks: The Green printed Maker's Mark on these pieces feature the Letter "M as in "Morimura" surrounded by a wreath, crowned by "Noritake" in capitals and below also in capitals, "Hand Painted" and "Made in Japan". Under this a legend in Japanese characters and  the pattern (or patent) number of "19322". Quoting the Invaluable website: "Noritake’s most popular pattern, Azalea, was produced somewhere between 1915 and 1930. Like the name suggests, the pattern featured painted pink flowers on a white background with gold detailing around the edges and handles. The Azalea pattern was used on everything from teapots to table sets to children’s pieces. Noritake’s Azalea was only sold through the Larkin Company catalog out of Buffalo, New York, which gifted the pattern to club members. This proved to be a profitable partnership for the Noritake company as it helped their products reach millions of homes and solidified their reputation in the United States. Azalea-patterned fine china is widely collected to this day." Noritake reissued a modern version of this pattern from 1988 until 1995. 

Condition: No chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. There is light wear to the gold trim on handles of cake plate and moderate wear to the gold trim on edges of plates and bowls.
