This rare fossil of a bivalve shell (cardinia species) and was collected from Scunthorpe, UK, many years ago and has been recently prepared and polished. It is approx 200 million years old, has good colour and preservation (calcite & pyrite, see pictures).
Specimen measures approx 9.6cm x 8cm x 2.3cm, with the Cardinia itself approx 6.2cm x 4cm.
