Author: STOKER, Bram (1847-1912)
Title: The Mystery of The Sea
Publication: New York: Doubleday, 1902
Description: [Strange Tale] FIRST U.S. EDITION. Octavo (21 x 14cm), pp.viii; 498; [4], blank. Handsomely bound in half deep blue calf with spine gilt-lettered in six compartments, traditional raised bands, cloth sides, original cloth covers preserved at rear, bound without half title (pp.i/ii). One or two minor spots else contents clean, edges a little dusty/toned, exterior as new. A very good copy in an attractive recent leather binding. Obviously anything written by Stoker will be overshadowed by the spectre of the great Count, but this tale of Armada treasure, ancient curses, secret codes and shipwreck is an absolute cracker.
