How to Use Chopsticks

Chopsticks are a versatile utensil – they can act as a fork, knife and pair of tongs all in one. Here’s a simple guide:

  1. Step 1: Relax your hand. Place the first chopstick in the “valley” between your thumb and index finger, resting it on your ring finger.
  2. Step 2: Place the second chopstick in the same valley, but rest it on your middle finger.
  3. Step 3: Use your thumb, index and middle fingers to hold the top chopstick more firmly.
  4. Step 4: Keep the bottom chopstick still and move only the top one to open and close over the food.
  5. Step 5: Start with small items and gradually move to heavier pieces as your control improves.
Care & Use
  • Safe for home dishwashers. Place on the top rack where possible.
  • Not suitable for commercial dishwashers or industrial cleaning systems.
  • Do not use in microwave ovens.
