Royal Doulton’s designer Leslie Harradine or rather Arthur (Leslie) Harradine (1887-1965) was one of Royal Doulton's premier, and most prolific modelers producing superb figures from 1920 until the mid-1950s. This figurine was introduced in 1939 and retired in 1975. The figurine was based on a calendar illustration titled "The Seamstress" by Anne Rochester.

Up for sale is a vintage retired (1939-1975) Royal Doulton’s (HN1901) Penelope created by Leslie Harradine. She is a beautiful woman dressed in a pink dress with blue bows doing a flowered needlepoint design (love the little blue shoe out on her small footstool).  She is also wearing a white mop hat with a blue ribbon. She is 7 ½ inches tall, 6 ½ inches wide and in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. Great piece for the collector of Royal Doulton!
