Question: Isn't this product completely useless?
Answer: Nope, it works well connecting single-plug gaming headsets (and some earbuds) with laptops & Notebooks that have separate mic and headphone jacks. Totally useful for that, it's what I bought mine for and I use it daily.
Question: does it work with bose headphones?
Answer: As long as they have a 3.5mm jack, they will work. They work great on my Beats!
Question: Does this work with cables that have the in-line remote with volume control?
Answer: I am presently using with Skull Candy earphones that work with my S5 smart phone for phone calls. I also use with the headset buddies on my PC for gaming with the inline mic. Team speak, and Mumble. I use the volum control on my PC and Phone not on the ear phones.
Question: Does it enable the mic?
Answer: Yes it does enable you to use the mic on headsets for CPU use.
