Dry plates are pieces of glass plate that are coated with a gelatin emulsion that when exposed to light will capture an image. It was a revolutionary photographic process in the late 19th century, and gave photographers the opportunity to take photographs anywhere they wanted.

This box has one plate exposed as seen in pic.  The rest of them are well wrapped in black paper.  I do not know how many are left of the possible remaining 11 plates, but the box does appear to be full.  I do not want to unwrap and possibly expose the plate.  If you know a way to check this without harm please feel free to reach out to me!

Plates measure 3.25 x 3.25" per the box!

Condition commensurate with age and use.

Please zoom pictures as they are the best part of my description.

Thanks for the interest!

All the best, Elisabeth
