Over 500 pictures and accompanying text illustrated the history of the Great Lakes from the time of the early explorers, to the dredging and canal-building eras, with description of the cities as well as the railroads that serve the region.  Author was a president of Michigan University and a noted Great Lakes author.  344 pp with illustrations in a nice copy.
