Autographed original blind embossed photograph on a postcard mount by late 19th, early 20th Century Milanese celebrity photographer Giulio Bossi, of the child prodigy pianist.  The photograph has been dated on the verso in Italian, February 25th, 1906.

Horszowski (1892-1993) made his Milan debut at La Scala on the 16th of February with Leopoldo Mugnone conducting the La Scala Orchestra.  The concert was so successful, a day or two later, he was given the Medal of the City of Milan and a gold pocket watch and chain from Duke Umberto Visconti.  Thew wunderkind also met Pablo Casals for the first time on the Milan trip.  They would not meet again until 1911 whilst both were in Paris.  He also played several recitals both private and in public.  The conductor Gino Marinuzzi wrote after a recital, ….and I shall bring you the picture of an eleven year old pianist, who, in Milan, has had a delirious success, not as a child prodigy mind you, but as a true pianist.
