These genuine Australian $100 notes are still in crisp and original condition.

Australian $100 notes were issued from 1984 right up until they were replaced by polymer notes in 1996.

Some notes can be particularly valuable if they have the right serial numbers or if they're in mint condition. The rarest $100 notes can sell for up to $1,000 each.

Within Australia, the RBA has estimated that millions of one hundred dollar notes are still in circulation.

Because $100 notes were printed across a period of around 2 decades, collectors have identified a number of different varieties that are needed to get for a complete set.

Australia's transition to polymer technology in the 1990s resulted in a vast increase in the number of collectors of paper decimal banknotes. That happened again between 2016 and 2020 as the Next Generation Banknote series was introduced, and yet again when the Queen passed away in September 2022.

As this broad demand base becomes more sophisticated, collectors will no doubt continue to purchase rarer and higher quality notes.

The notes that we offer here are in decent condition, but aren't mint. An experienced collector would describe them as being in Extremely Fine or better quality.

The paper $100 notes were issued in Australia from 1984, and are the "AUSTRALIA" type, which were issued until 1996.

The paper is bright, the colours are strong and the edges are completely intact. Although they have some light folding throughout the body, they look fantastic.

The great thing about getting notes like this is they are a lot more affordable than notes that are in mint condition, and cost a fraction of the price.

Because they are already slightly folded, you don't have to worry about members of the family handling them if you get them out.

They're great to use to show young folks what our money was like "back in the day".
