Mauser Mfg. Co. was a silversmith firm founded in 1887 by Frank Mauser as Frank Mauser & Co. in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. In 1890, the firm moved to New York City and in 1893, it was reorganized as the Mauser Manufacturing Company. Beginning in 1897, Mauser advertised with a unicorn trademark to stand for sterling value, originality of design and artistic workmanship. In 1913, the Mauser Mfg. Co. merged with Hayes & McFarland Company and Roger Williams Silver Company, forming Mt. Vernon Company Silversmiths, which was purchased by the Gorham Corporation in 1920 continuing production under its name until 1923.
Measures: Dimensions, 6 ¼” high (with lid) x 3 ½” wide (across widest parts) x 2 ¼” base diameter; Weight, 11.7 oz (331 grams).
Condition: Good and clean, no monogram, but with a dent to one decanter as indicated in photo 11, whereas another decanter has a tiny dent (not shown), without affecting the overall beauty and usage.
