Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Marantz 2285B (not the 2285). This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Marantz 2285B P800 power supply board (including the relay), P700 amplifier board, P400 phono EQ board, PE01 preamp board, PS01 switch board, and P100/P200/P300 tuner boards, and includes replacements for the main filter caps as well.

This does not include new lights, fuses, or output transistors. The correct replacement output transistors are four MJ21195G (replaces 2SB557) and two MJ21196G (replaces 2SD427), available here. Please do not buy any of the fake "Made in Japan" Chinese output transistors listed on eBay--these are counterfeit and will damage your receiver.

The 2285B is a bit of a challenge to work on. Accessing the boards is difficult, so if you have not worked on vintage gear before, this is NOT one to start with.

The kit for each board is bagged individually to make things easier.


These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Marantz equipment. The main filter capacitors are Cornell-Dubilier 6800 uf 63v capacitors, and the other capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, and TDK film caps at the same uf ratings and the same or higher voltage ratings. The transistors and diodes are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi and Toshiba subs for the original transistors.  There are four mini adapter boards and four SMD dual transistors to replace the four 2SA798s. You will need to assemble these, so you'll need either a very fine-point soldering iron tip and very thin solder, or you'll need SMD-working equipment.  Or you can skip that step. 

I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is moderately complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb.
