Antique 1917 Original House of Representatives 65th War Congress USA WW1 Poster

This poster is a very rare piece of history.

Features the members of the United States House of Representatives during the 65th Congress (1917 – 1919). The 65th Congress took place during a period of great change, both around the world and in Congress itself. During the 65th Congress, the House of Representatives voted on the declaration of war that marked American entry in World War I and passed a number of wartime acts.  It also marked the first time a woman was elected to either house of Congress.

Due to its age the poster does have some condition issues. There are a number of small rips and tears around the border of the poster. Some of the rips go into the pictures. The worst rip is on the left-hand side that goes in about 4 inches. There is also minor staining mainly on the outside portion of the poster. The poster was printed on a heavy stock paper. There is roll mark creases in the picture. This could be mostly taken out with a good mounting in a frame. The poster was in a frame with a Lucite cover but it wasn’t firmly pressed down.

The size of the poster is 27 1/2" x 22"

Poster will be carefully rolled around a tube and placed inside another mailing tube for protection.
