Trails and Trials of a Texas Ranger by William Warren Sterling. This book is a rare, signed 1st edition hardcover printed in 1959. Illustrations by Bob Shoenke. Book also contains black and white photos of the named Texas Rangers and people discussed within. Last page of book contains bibliography.

Hardcover book has a textured tan cloth cover with brown quarter leather. Spine has gold lettering and library label. No dust jacket was made for this book. The title page is signed by author William Warren Sterling.

The book is in used condition, as it was part of several public and private library collections over the years. Most notably, Harlingen Public Library and Amarillo College Library.

This is where it gets interesting.

The book has all 524 pages present and there is writing throughout. There are various library stamps, as well. But, quite a bit of the writing appears to be first and secondhand accounts of additional historical information and corrections on the related subject matter. Quite fascinating.

The copyright page contains the signature of one Lillian Weems Baldridge of Harlingen, Texas. Her brother was the first person to be buried in Harlingen in 1909. He was scalded to death after accidentally falling into a boiling vat of sugarcane syrup in their father’s factory.

Please see pics for a better idea of physical condition. I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.

This historical book needs to be in a collection and studied for further publications regarding the Texas Rangers and Texas history.
