Antique Pair Chinese Famille Verte Enameled Porcelain Vases; Up for sale are a pair of Chinese porcelain vases with hand painted scenes on dark green background, dated early 19^th century in Emperor Jiaqing period (1796-1820), Qing dynasty.

Both vases in baluster forms are footed and designed to have flared up rims, slightly tapered necks, and bulging waists. Because the necks are tapered which are easily for handling, there are no additional handles. The surfaces of both vases are flamboyantly painted and enameled with different kinds of birds, flowers and plants in opposite directions as mirror images. Those birds include at least phoenix birds and mandarin ducks. Both vases are decorated at the shoulders with geometric motifs and marked at the bottoms under glaze with “大清嘉慶年製”.

Please note that the dark green background or famille verte viewed by naked eyes could not be correctly displayed. The colors in the photos are more in blue which however are not right.

Measures: Dimensions, 3 7/8” rim diameter x 12 ¾” high x 7” wide (across widest parts at the waist) x 4” base diameter; Weight, both vases totally 8 lbs & 0.7oz (3.6 kg).

Condition: Very good and clean, with no chips or cracks, except that there is a minor defect possibly from the manufacturing process on the right vase as shown in photo 7, indicated by double arrows in red.
