There are 2 problems that cannot be done without the Disa repair kit:

Problem 1.
Valve breakage is a common problem due to the materials used by the manufacturer (plastic) and the type of connection. Most often, the connection between the lever and the blade begins to "dangle" and emit a characteristic sound (buzzing or crackling) precisely because of the design feature. The stronger the wear becomes, the less the connection between the blade and the lever becomes, and therefore the blade begins to dangle, further work is highly discouraged, since the blade can completely fall off, and if it enters the intake manifold, it can seriously damage the engine itself.
Unfortunately, the new "Disa BMW" block is also susceptible to this problem. The cost of the new Disa unit is on average 250 USD, and taking into account all this, many recommend simply removing the blade and driving without it, but this clearly affects the engine's performance in terms of reducing power at low and medium speeds and, of course, increasing fuel consumption.

Problem 2.
A vacuum valve is installed in the Disa block body itself, and it happens that the membrane installed in it breaks and the entire block stops working, only because the valve ceases to be tight.

Solution:
To solve the problem, a repair kit appeared, which includes a blade and a crank. The strength of such a connection is ensured by means of a rod, which just connects the blade to the crank arm. The rod does not allow even the slightest vibration, it is also the axis of rotation and guarantees the strength of the structure.
