EUGLENA (Euglena gracilis)

Warning!  Do NOT get into any sort of game of Animal-Vegetable-Mineral with a Biology Teacher because YOU WILL LOSE!  How can I be so sure?  THEY CHEAT!  Sure they may string you along for a few rounds, sort of like the way that a cat teases with a mouse, but when they want to and are ready, they will bite your head off.  All it takes is EUGLENA.  Oh, that's EASY...a single cell animal.  It even has a whip-like flagella for swimming around relatively quickly.  Ok, but it can also produce its own food through photosynthesis like a plant does.  And...your head implodes.  Extensively studied in the lab, the one thing I know for sure about EUGLENA is that Biology Teachers go bonkers when they discover that we have plush ones...and as an Astronomer, that's good enough for me!

IMPORTANT: When these are sent to us from Giant Microbes, depending on the quantity of our order, sometimes they are individually bagged and sometimes they are bulk bagged but NOT individually.  When we mail yours out, each WILL be safely wrapped inside either a factory-sealed bag or a new plastic shopping bag to help protect it from the elements as it travels to you.  As these are filled with polyester fibers, it can and will probably be packed tightly for shipping so if it appears a little "squished" when it arrives, it may just need to be shaken and "fluffed" upon removal from its mailing box.  PLEASE, for the safety of your new friend, do NOT cut or puncture the box with any sharp objects!
