Dept 56, 12 Days of Christmas, #6, "Six Geese A-Laying", #58382
It is believed that "The Twelve Days of Christmas" was probably first recited or sung by wandering troubadours in Medieval times... but the first "penned" reference to this familiar English carol does not appear until the eighteenth century. And, like so many of our favorite holiday traditions, the original custom and meanings of this song have changed or have been lost with the passing of time.
Wonderfully maintained collector's piece in its original box.
Please see my other Department 56 listings - as I offer up my whole collection.
