This specimen is from the Wendy and Frank Melanson thumbnail collection.

The Melansons started and ran the mineral dealership Hawthorneden from the mineral collecting mecca of Bancroft, Ontario, Canada.  Frequent buying trips to Brazil and other prolific mineral localities around the world, as well as their contacts in Canada, made for a constant stream of new material to feed the collection, and over more than 50 years it swelled to nearly 10,000 pieces.

We are proud to have the opportunity to handle this world-class thumbnail collection.
