Vintage Fine Butcher Knife with Carbon Steel Blade & Wood Handle Covered with Protective Epoxy Layer Made by Winchester Arms Company
Winchester Arms Company is a famous prominent American maker of firearms founded by Oliver Winchester in 1866 in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1919, Winchester expanded into producing knives.
With the proliferation of other knife companies in the 1930s, prices dropped and the quality of Winchester knives began to suffer. By early 1942, Winchester ceased production of knives and entered into other contracts with the military during World War II.
This knife has the blade hand forged from the fine carbon steel designed to take a finer edge and hold it longer providing sharp cutting satisfaction. The handle covered with protective epoxy layer is triple riveted over the full tang to good fitting for durability, strength, & balance.
It has the fine condition.
