Australia 1966 Uncirculated Mint Coin Set Canberra Card
Obverse: Elizabeth II to right, legend around
Reverse: Circulating coin designs
Mintage: 77,250
This is Australia's very first decimal mint coin set.
Australia continues to produce mint year sets since this set was issued in 1966.
The coins in mint sets are just the same as those we see in circulation, but are in perfect condition.
The 1966 mint set is unique in one major way - it's the only one to feature a round (and silver) 50¢ piece.
Many 1966 mint sets have spotted or tarnished coins - sets that include each coin still in pristine condition command a significant premium.
This Canberra card was the most readily available coin set issued in 1966, although there aren't many around in attractive condition today.
The packaging of this set is in reasonable condition, the copper coins are standard for the period.
