Robert Louis Stevenson. A Child's Garden of Verses. Illustrated by Charles Robinson. Scribner's. 1895. First American Edition. Dark green cloth with gilt design to front and gilt design and lettering to spine. Illustrated throughout with pen and ink drawings. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed.

Publisher's original green cloth has good color. Minor rubbing to edges, corners, spine tips and shoulders. Softening to corners. Gilt to front and rear very bright and attractive, dulled to spine. Externals very good.

Previous owner's vintage bookplate to blank front endpaper pastedown. Faded gift inscription to ffep. Text block clean, bright and very attractive. No marks, no tears, no foxing. Still tight. Appears unread and unused.

An attractive copy of the first printing. Robinson's pen and ink masterpiece.
