Vintage Reed & Barton Sterling Silver Repousse Compote Centerpiece; Up for sale is the exquisite Reed & Barton sterling silver repousse compote centerpiece with a scalloped rim and a pierced border, dated likely early 20^th, prior to the mid-century.

Reed & Barton, operating between 1824 and 2015, was a prominent American silversmith based in Taunton, Massachusetts, who produced sterling silver, silver-plate flatware and other products. Throughout its history, Reed & Barton was officially appointed to manufacture the 1996 Olympic Medals held in Atlanta, Georgia and had manufactured articles used by America presidents and celebrities.

The sterling silver compote centerpiece is delicately and intricately decorated with acanthus leaves, engraved floral motifs, gadrooned edges, a trumpet pedestal and a conforming base. Underneath shows the “Sterling 590 A”, together with the Reed & Barton Eagle/R/Lion hallmark, which was used from 1889 to c.1946.

Measures: 10 ½” rim diameter x 5 ¼” high x 6” base diameter; Weight, 24.85 troy ounces (765 grams). Condition: Very good, clean and polished, without dents or any damages to note, no monogram either.
