Condition Continued: The first two are still bound to one another, the last two are also bound to one another. They are all very clean and in very good condition. One has a 1/16th of an inch tear off its bottom edge. There is one other illustration in the book which is also cleanly detached and there is also a little space over the bottom 3/4 of an inch of the juncture between two facing pages. In the fourth photo you can also see that a tiny bit of the surface paper (no hole) got pulled over from an illustrated page to the 'Illustrations' page (the page listing the illustrations in the book). The pages have a little bit of stiffness to them but  no other page is detached and the book feels otherwise reasonably well-bound. There is a tiny light stain off the top edge of the pages beginning with page 43. It is very far away from the print and photographs. I didn't see any creasing or dogeared corners on any of the pages. Nor are there any markings or attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. There are a total of 59 numbered pages. Note that the blank versos of the illustrations are counted as pages.

Village Improvement Society of Ridgefield, Ridgefield, Connecticut, 1899. Hardcover. First Edition (NAP, 1899 on the title page). I've never seen a copy of this book for sale anywhere on the Internet. I've also bought a lot of books in Ridgefield, Connecticut over the years and have never seen another copy. HathiTruist Digital Library has a reference to the book (or to the microfilm of the book, perhaps) at Columbia University.
