Better than the original equipment rudder by far, in so many ways:
  1.  All metal rudder head is stronger.
  2. Adjustable tiller (handle) length so you can sit close and have a short tiller or sit far and have a long one.
  3. Eyebolt-type rudder pin -- easier to handle and harder to lose.
  4. Larger rudder blade for better control.
  5. Blade made from a strong, rot-proof synthetic material instead of wood, which can warp or delaminate.
  6. Blade will not float up accidentally because (a) it is made of a neutral-bouyancy material and (b) the blade is secured by a big hand-knob with a nylon friction ring so you can tighten it without tools and it stays put.
Has hole at the top for your sheet line. Tiller length adjusts quickly and easily while you are sailing from 6 inches to a whopping 5 feet!     Sit close to the rear when you have a passenger.  Sit farther forward to balance the boat fore and aft when sailing solo (see photo above of large man sailing solo with boat level instead of having bow sticking up in the air).  You go faster and have more stability when the boat is level from front to back.

Fits all Sea Snarks, Super Snarks, Sunflowers and Sears Whirlwind boats that have the black plastic gudgeon (fitting on the back of the boat to receive the rudder pin).  If yours has a metal gudgeon, then you need to replace that with the plastic gudgeon (available from us for about $35).

What's included:  Rudder, including tiller, rudder head, blade and pin.  Gudgeon not included and usually not needed, but we sell them if you do need it.  Boat not included.
