This was a labor of love.  First I made the spiral tip head pins out of silver wire for the tail.  Then I carefully selected the 3mm Swarovski crystal bicones in rainbow colors to cover the tail of the dragonfly. 

The sterling silver dragonfly bead is from Bali.  I put a silver Czech crystal at the head and attached it all to sterling silver round posts so they don't hang too long. Although not measured here, I think that these are about 2 inches, or so, long.
