* HDMI 2.0B | BACKROUND
The HDMI Forum, to which 88 companies from the multimedia industry belong, opened on 4. September 2013 published the new HDMI 2.0 specifications. The most important innovation of HDMI 2.0 is the much higher possible data rate of up to 18 gigabits per second, which is necessary for modern 4K content with double the frame rate. The high speed HDMI cables with Ethernet from in-akustik support HDMI 2.0B and are therefore ideally suited for current and future requirements. For the HDMI cables in the “Star” category, this applies up to and including 3.0m, for “Premium” HDMI cables up to and including 5.0m and for “Excellence” even up to and including 15m in length thanks to an intelligent chip in the connector.

3D SUPPORT AND 4K RESOLUTION
The latest version of the HDMI standard creates the technical requirements so that 3D videos can be played at home. The input / output protocols are defined here, which enable the connection of 3D displays and source devices via an HDMI connection. It is a major milestone in bringing true 3D games and 3D home theater to a wide audience, with support for resolutions up to 1080p in 3D. 3D technology is developing at breakneck speed, with various competing processes currently in existence. The HDMI 1.4 specification defines protocols for a number of popular 3D display methods, such as: E.g .: - Frame, line or field alternative - Side by side (full and half) - 2D plus depth
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Experience shows that there are always compatibility problems when installing HDMI components. The reasons for this are often difficult to determine, as the individual components and cables in turn usually work perfectly in other constellations. We therefore strongly recommend testing the entire chain with Allen planned components including the cables before they are installed. Especially when long cables are used and have to be laid. When laying the cables, also pay attention to a possible direction of travel. Long HDMI cables such as the Excellence HDMI2.0 cable from 7.5m or the Profi HDMI2.0 fiber optic cable have active chips built in and are therefore directional. Cables are sensitive! They must not be kinked, squeezed or pulled, otherwise they could be damaged.
