BC 3500 EVO is a smart battery charger with an embedded microprocessor, a temperature sensor and a battery & alternator testing function. It is ideal for the daily usage of demanding customers looking for the best solutions available on the market to manage their batteries fitted on motorcycles and cars with batteries up to 150 Ah. It can be used to solve many battery related problems, from the initialization of new batteries to the recovery and desulfation of used batteries, from charging to long term maintenance, thanks to its exclusive function of monthly equalization. The START&STOP program is optimized for AGM & EFB batteries.

CHARGING ALGORITHM - 8 STEPS

BC battery chargers are controlled by a microprocessor that automatically executes a multi-step algorithm. BC chargers for lead-acid batteries execute

the following 8 charging steps:

1 - Initialization: it verifies that the battery is in a proper condition to be charged or recovered.

2 - Recovery: if the battery is deeply discharged (starting from 1.25V), the device tries to recover it.

3 - Soft Charge: if the battery is extremely undercharged, BC provides a light pulsing current to overcome this critical phase.

4 - Bulk Charge: the charger provides full current to the battery, completing the charging process.

5 - Desulfation: the device provides the battery with a “controlled overcharge” for a pulsing desulfation of the lead-acid cells (for low/medium sulfation).

6 - Analysis: the device stops providing current and verifies that the battery is able to retain the charge received. This test is repeated at regular intervals

during maintenance.

7 - Maintenance: the battery charger executes a pulsing maintenance of the battery charge even for long periods, without any overheating,

overcharging or electrolyte loss.

8 - Equalization: during the maintenance BC executes an equalization process each 30 days to re-balance the battery cells, avoiding the electrolyte

stratification.
