Polygon Solution’s 6mm Hex Rotary Broach cutting tools are designed for superior performance when machining aluminum, brass, and mild steel. Polygon recommends drilling the pilot hole 3% oversize for hexagon forms. Pilot holes should also include a 45° chamfer and extra depth for chip accumulation. Expect reduced tool life when broaching tougher materials and tighter pilot holes.

The Recommended Pilot Hole Diameter for a 6mm Hex is: .246″
The Recommended Minimum 45° Chamfer for a 6mm Hex is: .276″
SPEEDS AND FEEDS
Start with minimum feed rate of .002-.003 IPR and 700-800 RPM.
