This cross stitch pattern was adapted and inspired by an original Navajo American rug, originally woven by hand and on display in the Hubbell Trading Post at Ganado, Arizona. This rug design incorporates traditional design elements associated with the Navajo rug weavers of the Ganado and Klagetoh areas in Arizona. The weavers of the area used many design elements from both Ganado and Klagetoh rugs sometimes reversing the same color schemes and patterns. This style of rug design is one of the most popular rug designs. This pattern, adapted to use as cross stitch and needlepoint, can be used as a whole design or components of its design elements. It can be used to create wall hangings, pillows, runners and even rugs. The pattern is 142 x 193 stitches, using 14 count White (you may use light grey Aida cloth to eliminate background stitches) Aida Cloth the design size is 10 x 14 inches. But you must add at least 3 inches around design size when purchasing cloth. I offer combined shipping.
