We use good quality components throughout ALL our assemblies that far exceed the minimum requirements for adaptors of this type. We will NEVER use cheap imported components that barely meet the Technical Specifications but are flimsy, poorly manufactured and not really robust enough for the job.
We use branded components, some bought-in from Europe because the correct specification items are just not available in the UK, and NEVER substitute any component with another cheaper or different colour in an attempt to drive cost down.
We assemble adaptors using critical little components such as ferrules to terminate some of the thinner wires so the screw terminals grip correctly on the wires and don't cut through or allow the wires to work loose.
Maybe most importantly we test and label EVERYTHING we assemble in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Test of Electrical Equipment. We check Earth Continuity, Insulation Resistance and correct Polarity. When we are finished, we not only THINK we got the product right, we KNOW we got it right!

The BS/EN/IEC 60309 Socket is of Austrian manufacturer. Robust and well suited to the knocks and drops expected of any Caravan Adapter.
The 13A Fused 3-Pin Plug is 'Permabrand' branded. Manufactured to meet the toughened BS 1363/A standard. An upgrade from the standard household standard.
The orange Arctic Grade Interconnecting Cable has conductors sized at 1.5 sq mm. Many other adaptors use only 1.25 sq mm conductors (and sometimes smaller). Whilst 1.25 sq mm is technically sufficient, it does not fit well into the terminals of the BS/EN/IEC 60309 connectors and can lead to wires either not being secured adequately or breaking after prolonged use. We also fit ferrules to the ends of the wires terminating in the BS/EN/IEC 60309 plugs and sockets ensure both reliable and durable connections.
Safety Notes....
The Caravan Club and Camping & Caravanning Club requirements are for Hook-Up Cable Connectors to meet the IP44 standard for the protection against ingress of water (Splashproof from all directions). However, the 3-Pin Plug of this Adaptor is a 'household' item and has no protection against ingress of water whatsoever. This Adaptor is therefore intended for Indoor Use, or through an external outlet within an enclosure that provides the appropriate protection against rainfall.
Most homes now have RCD's (Residual Current Devices) fitted as standard to their main distribution boards or supplies to Garages or Outbuildings. But, if you are uncertain as to whether one is fitted to the circuit you are connecting to, then this adaptor should be be used in conjunction with a separate RCD, just as you would with your Lawn Mower. We use only Royal Mail for our shipping.
Shipping Royal Mail Tracked 48 is included in the majority of our listings. Royal Mail are pretty good at achieving their 48 hour target but this is NOT a guaranteed service and can occasionally take a day or two longer.
Where an improved service is required, a Tracked 24 option is available as you go through checkout. Again, this is a non-guaranteed service.
A Royal Mail tracking number will be provided as soon as an item is released for shipping but the actual progress from us to you is limited to whatever detail is available from Royal Mail.
Beyond this, we have no means of confirming the exact location or projected delivery date through Royal Mail and, previous attempts to do so, have only resulted in suggestions to ‘wait 15 days and file a lost item case’.
Where delivery is critical, a Special Delivery option is available. This is a next-day by 1:00pm guaranteed service with deliveries only on Monday to Friday.
eg… an item ordered on Monday should arrive by 1:00pm Tuesday… an item ordered on Friday should arrive by 1:00pm the following Monday.
We can not offer a next-day service for Saturday delivery.
As the majority of our product are bespoke, cut off for the Special Delivery option is 1:00pm.
