A truly stunning original Victorian anatomical study by Yaggy, dating from 1886. These were illustrated in Chicago, Illinois.

This print depicts the internal organs in beautiful detail.

It's backed onto linen, with a small linen flap at the top - useful for hanging or mounting in whatever way you like. It's coated with some sort of lacquer, some of which has yellowed over the years. It's lovely and tactile though. It would almost be a shame to hide it behind glass.

Considering the age of these prints, it's in good condition. This has obviously been used, most likely in the course of teaching medical students throughout the centuries and has some dark fingerprints and marks, largely to the back, but some signs to the front. The back is incredibly grubby. A small chunk is missing from the top right corner. A few small crease marks, but all part of its charm. It hasn't just come off a printing press! Please check photos for full details of condition.

Measures approx 29" x 17"

The illustrations from this particular study were taking from the post-mortem of a man addicted to alcohol and opium.

A rare chance to own a beautiful piece of social history.

Will be sent in a sturdy cardboard tube, tracked, signed and insured.

I have the rest of this collection up for sale.
