Korda Hooks Range

Wide Gape

The Korda Wide Gape carp hook is based on the classic Maruta Kinryu spade end hook.
The point is very slightly inturned so it still catches hold quickly but still creates a very secure hook hold. The eye is inturned 15 degrees to flip the hook over quickly. This is without doubt a modern day classic carp fishing hook.

Wide Gape X

The Wide Gape X is a stepped up version of the original Wide Gape. This super strong pattern is extremely reliable and perfect for big carp in demanding situations. Featuring an advanced PTFE coating - the smoothest and most durable finish available.

Mixa

The first dedicated floater fishing hook. These have been specifically designed to hook even the shyest feeding carp on the surface. With a short shank, wide gape, beaked offset point, they truly are made for the job. The final most noticeable point about these hooks, are their sharpness; hypodermic and piercing is the best possible explanation I can give. So much so that the guys at Korda have been using them for all manner of carp fishing situations. Korda’s Ali Hamidi commented; “They have been initially designed for surface fishing, but great hook patterns like this, considering their sharpness and characteristics lend themselves to lots of fishing scenarios. They’ve been catching specimen Chub, Barbel and obviously loads of carp during testing”.

Long Shank X

Longshank X Barbed is exactly the same pattern as the Longshank but is two wire gauges heavier per size, this makes it considerably stronger so it suits more demanding situations like fishing in heavy weed or near snags. The point is still long and very sharp but the thicker wire means the hook will take more punishment than its finer wire brother.

Kurv Shank

Carp find this pattern very tricky to eject due to its curved shank, which drives into their bottom lip. It always flips when sucked in and there is no need to add any shrink tubing due to its in-turned eye.
It can be used with a variety of presentations such as the blowback, KD rig and many more. The point is very sharp and it is reliable and strong. A firm favourite among some of the best carp anglers in the country. This hook pattern is also a fantastic addition to the Mutli Rig. Rather than using a Choddy Hook, you can incorporate a Kurv Shank. Due to the way that the rig is designed the Kurv will sit like a claw and whichever way the carp sucks in the hook bait, the point will be facing down ready to grab the bottom lip. A revolutionary design!

Choddy

A hook designed to be incorporated with the popular chod rig or hinged stiff rig presentation. The pattern features an out-turned eye and the point is unbelievably sharp and reliable, retaining its sharpness in the most demanding conditions. Anglers such as Jim Shelley and Nick Helleur swear by this hook. They've literally taken waters apart using it, so get on it. Its dull, anti-glare finish blends it in with the surroundings ensuring that you won’t spook any passing fish. An absolute must for the avid stiff rig user. Due to the wide gape in the pattern, it creates extremely secure hook holds as the beaked point holds firm and doesn't twist and turn during the fight. A great hook.

Kontinental

A new super strong continental hook pattern based on the classic Continental Boilie hook. This micro-barbed hook is perfect for fishing in Europe and is also a good snag fishing hook.

XX Wide Gape & XX Kurv Shank

Following the unprecedented success of the Wide Gape and Kurv X patterns, which have accounted for many of the biggest fish in the country since their launch, Korda have listened to the customer’s feedback and developed an even stronger hook – the XX range. Designed for the most demanding of situations, the XX hooks are two wire gauges heavier than the X models, offering unsurpassed strength and durability for big fish anglers. The Kurv Shank XX copies the original Kurv pattern that’s become a firm favourite of many anglers, particularly when used on a KD rig or similar simple presentation which allows the curved shank to turn the hook and ultra-sharp straight point to do the rest.  The Kurv Shank XX also features a 28-degree down-turned eye to help turn the hook and convert pick-ups into takes, a micro barb and durable PTFE coating that aids camouflage and keeps the point surgically sharp for long periods.  The Wide Gape pattern needs little introduction, having been a firm favourite amongst many anglers across the UK and Europe since its launch with its classic shape and reliable construction. The likes of Darrell Peck, Elliott Gray and Danny Fairbrass are big fans of the patterns and it’s accounted for huge carp at tricky venues across the UK and Europe.

With the launch of the XX model, this ultra-reliable, beaked-point pattern can now be used for targeting the biggest carp in the world with confidence that it won’t let you down, no matter how much pressure is put on the terminal tackle. Ideal for blowback rigs, simple knotless knot presentations and multi rigs, the Wide Gape XX is also two gauges heavier than the X model and is sure to be firm favourite with anglers tackling seriously big carp in snaggy environments.
