Easy Setup Guide

You need: a smartphone, the free eWeLink app, and your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi name and password. The hub does not work on 5GHz Wi-Fi.

Step 1 – Download the app

  1. Open the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and search for eWeLink (developer: CoolKit).
  2. Install it and create a free account with your email.
  3. Allow Location and Bluetooth when asked – the app uses these to find the hub.

Step 2 – Add the hub

  1. Plug the hub in and wait about 30 seconds.
  2. Hold the button on the hub for about 5 seconds until the light flashes quickly.
  3. In eWeLink, tap + then Add device (or scan the QR code on the hub).
  4. Choose your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and enter the password (case-sensitive), then name the hub.

Step 3 – Add Zigbee devices

  1. Open the hub in eWeLink and tap Add.
  2. Put your Zigbee device into pairing mode (usually hold its button for 5 seconds until it flashes).
  3. Wait for it to appear and give it a clear name, e.g. "Hall Light". Keep it near the hub while pairing.

Step 4 – Link to Google Home or Alexa (optional)

  1. Google Home: tap + > Set up device > Works with Google > search eWeLink and sign in.
  2. Alexa: More > Skills & Games > search eWeLink Smart Home > Enable > sign in > Discover devices.
  3. Always add new devices in eWeLink first – they then appear in Google Home or Alexa automatically. If one is missing, say "Hey Google, sync my devices".

Troubleshooting

  • Won't connect to Wi-Fi: if your router uses one name for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, temporarily turn off 5GHz or give the bands separate names.
  • Turn off any VPN on your phone during setup.
  • If your router is set to "WPA3 only", change it to "WPA2/WPA3".
  • To reset the hub, hold the button for about 10 seconds and start again from Step 2.
