Vintage Early 20th Century Collection of 7 Fountain Pen Various Manufacturers and Styles. The group of pens include:
#1-Townsend 1930's Fountain Pen . Tortoiseshell/tiger-eye marbled celluloid design with alternating patches of amber-brown and black. Lever filler mechanism with gold-tone lever in the side of the barrel. A gold-tone pocket clip stamped "Townsend" and dual gold-tone bands on the cap. Gold nib that reads: "WARRANTED", "14 KT." and "8". The pen measures 5-1/2" long.
#2- Parker 1920's Fountain Pen. Duofold Lucky Curve "Bandless" 1920's model with a bandless cap. Made of hard black rubber (ebonite). The nib is a genuine 14K gold Parker Duofold Deluxe nib. The nib reads: "PARKER", "DUOFOLD", "DELUXE" and "MADE IN U.S.A.". The pen features a gold-plated vintage washer-style POCKET clip accented with a ball end and is stamped "PAT. SEP.", "5 16" (For patent date September 5, 1916), and "PARKER". The barrel of the pen IS engraved with a name "W. D. OLSEN". The barrel has the Lucky Curve banner imprint that reads "GEO. S. PARKER JANESVILLE, WIS.", "DUOFOLD LUCKY CURVE", "FOUNTAIN PEN" and "U.S.A. PAT. 4-25-11". The pen utilizes a button-filler mechanism accessed by unscrewing the blind cap at the end of the barrel. The pen measures 5-1/2" long.
#3- Waterman’s Ideal 1920's Fountain Pen. Waterman’s 52 1/2 V ring-top fountain pen made of Black Hard Rubber. The pen is a lever-filler with "IDEAL" stamped on the lever. Designed without a pocket clip the top features a small metal loop intended for a chatelaine, ribbon, or chain. Fitted with a flexible 14k gold Ideal nib with a Heart Breather Hole. The "52 1/2" model denotes a slimmer profile, while the "V" stands for vest (short) version. The pen measures 4-1/4" long.
#4- Butterscotch Catalin-bakelite style dip pen with a corroded metal calligraphy nib. The nib is stamped but it is too corroded to make out. The pen measures 7" long.
#5- Remington 1930's-1940's Deco Fountain Pen. Gray and black spiral-striated celluloid barrel and cap. The pen is a lever-filler with "REMINGTON" stamped on the lever. The pen is fitted with a gold nib that is stamped: "WARRANTED VELVET TOUCH 14K". The pen has a ball end pocket clip stamped "REMINGTON". The pen measures 5" long.
#6- Remington 1930's Fountain Pen & Mechanical Pencil "Duo-Pen". The pen has a black celluloid body with gold-plated trim rings, lever and pocket clip. he pen is a lever-filler. One end cap unscrews to reveal a traditional fountain pen nib and the other side has a twist-action mechanical pencil. The pencil unscrews to access an eraser. The nib is stamped "Warranted Durium Tipped 14K". The pen has a ball end pocket clip stamped "REMINGTON". The pen measures 5-1/2" long.
#7- Waterman's 1900's-1930's Ideal Fountain Pen. Model "12 1/2" is stamped on the bottom of the pen. Gold nib stamped "Waterman's", "Ideal" and "New York" that features a heart-shaped breather hole. The pen's body is crafted from Black Hard Rubber (Ebonite). There is no lever, no cap and i am not sure how ink is added. The pen measures 4-7/8" long.
The pens are in fairly good vintage condition considering their age. Caps, levers and parts that are meant to unscrew or move do. Ink has not been added and the pens have not been tested and the condition of their internal ink bladders is not known. The pens have not been cleaned or worked on. They have been in climate controlled storage for at least 40-years and have not been touched. Every effort is made to faithfully represent the colors in the photos as close to the original "real-life" colors as possible. That said, please be aware that that there are color variances due to the digital cameras automatic correction and different lighting and backgrounds. The photos are with different color backgrounds to give the most accurate representation of the actual color of the item as possible.
