Description

The SharkBite 1-1/2 in. Push-to-Connect Brass Coupling Fitting provides a fast and convenient way to connect compatible PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and HDPE pipe. Designed for large-diameter plumbing applications, the fitting can connect different compatible pipe materials in virtually any combination without soldering, clamps, unions, glue, or special installation tools.

Installation is accomplished by simply inserting the properly prepared pipe into the fitting. Stainless-steel gripping teeth bite down to provide a secure connection while a specially formulated chlorine-resistant O-ring compresses around the pipe to create a watertight seal. The fitting can also be rotated after installation, making alignment and adjustments easier, particularly in confined spaces.

The coupling can be installed on either wet or dry lines and pressure tested immediately after installation, eliminating the need to wait for soldered connections to cool or solvent-based connections to dry. It is approved for behind-the-wall and underground applications, with wrapping required when installed underground.

Constructed with a low-lead DZR corrosion-resistant brass body, this coupling is rated for temperatures up to 200°F and pressures up to 200 PSI. When connecting PEX pipe, a compatible SharkBite stiffener is required. The fitting can also be removed using the appropriate large-diameter SharkBite disconnect tool, allowing it to be changed or reused when needed.
