Algo 8188 IP Ceiling Speaker – Wideband SIP Paging & Music for Offices, Schools & Retail
Versions: Algo 8188 (SIP/White) Algo 8188B (SIP/Black) Algo 8188-IC (InformaCast/White) The Algo 8188 IP Ceiling Speaker is a SIP-compliant, multicast-capable PoE network speaker built for drop-ceiling installations. It delivers reliable, high-intelligibility audio for voice paging, emergency notifications, loud ringing, and background music in offices, classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and retail environments. With wideband HD voice, ambient noise compensation, and talkback capability, it ensures every announcement is heard clearly—no more missed pages or garbled messages. Multicast support lets you scale across buildings or campuses with minimal SIP registrations, while 1 GB of internal memory stores custom WAV or MP3 files for alerts, tones, and music. Dual SIP extensions handle paging plus ring/notification duties, and the speaker integrates seamlessly with leading UC platforms via secure SIP (TLS & SRTP). Powered by a single PoE cable (IEEE 802.3af), installation is simple and cost-effective—no extra amplifiers or outlets required. The Telecom Spot Expert Take: IT managers and facility teams love the Algo 8188 because it solves real-world pain points fast. The built-in microphone automatically adjusts volume to match ambient noise, so pages stay audible whether the room is quiet or busy. Wideband audio cuts through background chatter better than standard speakers, and multicast means you register just one unit to reach dozens. It’s perfect for modern VoIP systems in growing offices, schools needing NFPA-compliant alerting, or retail spaces that want background music interrupted only by important announcements. Simple web setup and secure provisioning keep deployment smooth and future-proof. Key Features Wideband HD audio (G.722 codec) — Delivers crisp, intelligible speech and music that cuts through noise for better STI-PA scores in classrooms and offices. Ambient noise compensation — Built-in mic senses room noise and automatically raises or lowers volume so every announcement is heard clearly. Two-way talkback — Integrated omnidirectional microphone lets listeners respond directly through the speaker—no extra hardware needed. Multicast scalability (50 zones) — Page unlimited speakers and zones from one registered unit; perfect for entire floors, buildings, or campuses. Dual SIP extensions — Separate paging and ring/notification lines (up to 50 page + 10 ring/alert) for flexible setup with any VoIP system. 1 GB audio memory — Upload custom ringtones, emergency alerts, or music files for personalized notifications. PoE powered (IEEE 802.3af) — Single Ethernet cable handles power and data; no separate power outlet required. Easy drop-ceiling install — Blind-mount design fits standard 8" hole; optional T-bar bracket and tile panel available. Secure & reliable — TLS/SRTP encryption, auto-provisioning, and server redundancy keep your system protected and always available.
