British artist Dani Bergson was born in London in 1973 and completed her foundation course in art and design at Middlesex University. She continued her arts education at the University of Central England in Birmingham with a degree in printed textiles and worked in textile design for a time before taking on painting full time in 2000. Her artwork has been commissioned for greeting cards, children's books, prints, posters, and stationery. 

Her favorite subject to paint is animals, especially cats, and she is more interested in creating images that give people pleasure rather than ones that shock or make a political statement. Cats are particularly good subjects because of their multifaceted personalities, which she can express simply through texture and form. As a former textile designer, she also takes inspiration from fashion, visiting trade fairs to keep up with the trends and see the work of other artists and illustrators. Some ofher favorite artists are Giacometti, Degas, Matisse, Mary Fedden, and Mary Newcomb.
