It was printed on high quality woven paper with a blank verso. Ample photos (front, back, and details) in high resolution are provided for your convenience of identification and judging its high quality independently. Description: John Gould (1804 1881) was one of the best-known ornithologists / bird illustrators of 19th century. This current print was taken from the 1st edition of his last monumental work Birds of New Guinea (volume 3) intended to be a supplement to his earlier Birds of Asia. It was produced via stone lithography followed by hand coloring. Delicately hand colored [note the velvety black head with gold colored body] with gum Arabic sheen as shown by the two photos [number 3 and 4] shot at slightly different angles, it depicted the two birds in life size with beautiful foliage.
