The collection consists of 58 reproductions of works (full set). The origins of the Vilnius Academy of Arts lie in Vilnius University, where the Department of Architecture was founded in 1793, the Department of Painting and Drawing in 1797, the Department of Sculpture in 1803, and the Department of Graphics in 1805. The collection of old graphics of the Academy of Arts vividly reveals the nature and development of the initial activities of this school. The teachers and students of the Department of Graphics, no less than other artists, shaped the direction of local art, raised the artistic level, and developed taste. Graphic artists adopted the latest European artistic ideas and methods of expression. On the other hand, they created a lot on local themes, depicted professors of Vilnius University, prominent cultural and political figures, the everyday life of craftsmen and peasants, and famous figures of local architecture. The collection of old graphics of the Vilnius Academy of Arts is valuable for understanding Lithuanian graphic art of the 16th-19th centuries, and is useful for further cultural research.

Rinkinį sudaro 58 darbų reprodukcijos (pilnas komplektas). Vilniaus dailės akademijos ištakos glūdi Vilniaus universitete, kurs 1793 m. įkurta Architektūros, 1797 m. - Tapybos ir piešimo, 1803 m. - skulptūros ir 1805 m. - Grafikos katedra. Dailės akademijos senosios grafikos kolekcija vaizdžiai atskleidžia šios mokyklos pradinės veiklos pobūdį, raidą. Grafikos katedros dėstytojai, auklėtiniai ne mažiau už kitus dailininkus formavo vietinės dailės kryptį, kėlė meninį lygį, ugdė skonį. Grafikai perimdavo naujausias Europos meno idėjas, išraiškos būdus. Kita vertus jie daug kūrė vietinėmis temomis, vaizdavo Vilniaus universiteto profesorius, žymius kultūros, politikos veikėjus, amatininkų, valstiečių buitį, vietinės architektūros įžymybes. Vilniaus dailės akademijos senosios grafikos kolekcija vertinga XVI-XIX a. Lietuvos grafikai suprasti, naudinga tolesniems kultūros tyrinėjimams.
