Harry Leon Wilson was an American comic novelist and playwright.

 He has  25 film credits;

 best known for Ruggles of the Red Gap (1935) and Merton of the Movies (1924 & 1947).

Wilson is credited with the term "flapper". He was married to illustrator Rose O'Neill,

who created  the Kewpie doll.
