Condition:

         The condition of this small folio excellent good [i.e., clear and clean image, strong and bright paper, no bend, no tear, slight but even age toning]. It was printed on high quality heavy wove rag paper with a blank verso. Ample photos [front, back, details] in high resolution are provided for your convenience of identification and judging its excellent quality independently.

Flaws to note: some minor stains around the edge of margin and on backside as shown by the detailed photos.

Description:

        The classic hand colored lithography prints published by Currier and Ives hardly need any introduction. This, however, is a black and white live portrait of General Sheridan (1831-1888) of US civil war fame. It has a Gale catalog number 4229 but was not listed in Canningham.
