Welcome to my auction for an  ex-council Leyland Roadrunner mobile library. This vehicle was built for Worcester Council and has been owned by them since new, but due to council cutbacks it is now surplus to requirements. It would make an excellent conversion as a camper, mobile shop, motorsports/racetruck transporter, mobile display unit, horsebox etc.

This was coach-built on the heavier-sprung 10-ton gross 8-stud medium wheel-base chassis which has been downgraded to 7.5 tonnes (non-HGV). It is powered by the ultra-reliable Cummins 6-cylinder diesel engine with a 5-speed gearbox, power-steering etc. Its external dimensions are 25 ft long x 7 ft 6” wide, and approximately 7 ft  high internally.

This vehicle comes with all the usual library refinements, ie high output, eberspächer twin blower central heating system, auto/manual fire suppressant system, brigade reversing camera, 240 V hook-up and 12 V charging system with a large bank of leisure batteries (however I have not checked their condition), powered side-door, Ratcliff disabled lift, full-length internal lighting, 4 large skylights/roof lights, two 12 V cooling fans, window blinds, easily removable wooden shelving and a 12 V water heater with an on-board washbasin.  

This truck’s taco reads only 45,000 km. I don’t know if this is warranted, but it certainly looks like it hasn’t done much more. The exterior is painted white with vinyl decals which could probably be easily removed. The front near side corner has had a repair sometime during its life, and the lower edges of the coachwork could do with some attention – please study the pictures provided. It also has a set of Michelin top-quality rear-chunky and front-road type tyres which are as new and could easily set you back over a £1000 alone, proving that this vehicle has been maintained regardless of cost.

This truck has multiple uses, some of which do and do not require an MOT. Please note that all bidders are bidding on the vehicle in its current state with no MOT, however if you require us to provide one, this can be done for an additional cost of £250.

We are based in Abergavenny, South Wales (post code NP7), and prospective bidders are very welcome to come and view the vehicle, especially since we are only 2 mins away from the major bus and train stations. Delivery to a UK destination can also be arranged at a negotiable extra cost.

Sadly, as this vehicle is direct from the council, it attracts 20% VAT which will be added to the final auction price with an invoice upon full payment/collection (apologies, I do not make the rules).
