Condition:

      The overall condition of this map is excellent plus (i.e., clean and pristine image, strong and bright paper, vivid colors, and nice full margins (with gilded edge all around -- another assurance that it has never been trimmed), no tear, and slight but even age toning - likely one of the nicest condition you will ever encounter for this map). Issued with a centerfold and Latin text on verso, photos in high resolution are provided for your convenience of identification and judging its excellent quality independently.

   Flaws to note: one minor fold line in the bottom margin, and some handling creases around the edge of margin at top and some very minor stains around the edge of margins as shown by the detailed photos.

Additional Notes:

    William Blaeu ( 1571-1638) was an important Dutch Cartographer and publisher of 17th century. This particular map was beautifully hand colored and decorated with coat of arm of duchy of Lorraine (northeast of France). Oriented West to the top, it depicted the region around Nancy with great details.
