This is a 1996 Trek 850 SHX Mountain Track XC with an 18" frame, 26" wheels, and twenty-one speeds.  The stand-over is 29.5 inches.  The frame is true temper double butted Cro-Moly and the color appears to be Dry Ice Red, not a very glossy color but having a metallic quality.  There are some marks on the frame, but very few; and there is very minor surface rust on the fittings for attaching a rear rack.  The finish on the chain stay below the chain is crazed.  Overall, the finish is in very good shape with minor blemishes.

The derailleurs, levers, brakes, and hubs are Shimano.  Rims are Matrix Lobo.  Shifting is done by Grip Shifters.  The bike shifts through all gears and the brakes work fine.

The tires and tubes are in great condition.  The bike comes with kick-stand, bottle cage and handlebar ends/extenders.

The bike has been used for the past few years for riding on roads and mostly paved bike trails on rides up to fifty miles and has been comfortable and reliable.  The bike is suitable for trails, town, and touring. 

The bike can be shipped for the charge indicated in he listing.  Shipping would be done by a local bicycle shop.  Typically the handlebars, pedals and seat are removed and require reattaching once received.  Other parts may be removed and require installation.  Brakes and derailleurs may require some adjustment.
