- If your shifter diameter is larger than 0.625", you might need to cut a hole at the top of the shift boot in order for the shifter to get thru. Also if your shift knob base is larger than 0.625", you cannot use the ring opening, and you will need to get rid of the ring opening and fold the shift boot inward. This is a brand new shift boot made by Genuine Leather with Red Stitches. This shift boot is 8.5" from bottom to top with 0.625" ring opening. This shift boot fits automatic and manual transmission, and modification might be required. For automatic transmission, you might need to get a new shift knob as well, and you probably want to make sure your shifter works with aftermarket shift knob (Please check demo video to get a general idea). It will be easier to install this shift boot to manual transmission, but some modification might be needed. Because there are too many variation, it is hard for us to know the exact installation steps for your vehicle, but we include some demo videos below to give you a general idea.
