Here is a brand new top of the line RSR "Jazz" model Eb alto sax. It is a very similar to the 82 Z by Yamaha, which is nicely akin to the famous Mark VI . Looks, feels and sounds so similar it is amazing. Very nice build quality and superb finish in vintage gold lacquer, beautiful engraving. Nice quality pads with the smooth shiny skin, metal resonators & blue needle springs. There are adjustment screws on the upper and lower stacks for ease of maintenance. If you play a Z , here is a great road and gigging horn, no worries! If you are wanting a Z, here is a great choice that saves you some bucks. Smooth, solid action, xlnt pitch, great ergonomics. This is a light, tight and lithe instrument, quite resonant and zippy, Dare I say, very 6 ish ? The neck has a classic upward curve, like the old Selmers. This feature gets the horn out in front of the player, away from your body to aid in getting that big, room filling sound. It has a smaller bore than the typical modern horn, and a darker sound as it should and that expressiveness in playing from the easier to manage air column. The keys are a good stiff brass for heavy duty playing usage, road ready durability. The action in the stacks is quick, smooth and light. The pad cups are slightly smaller than the typical alto. This is good because it lets more sound out without having to open the action too high. We hear a bigger sound and retain a quick action with the moderate key height openings. Wonderful ergonomics in a beautiful horn with lots of character. Out of the box this horn will serve the needs of a pro player, put some bench time into it and you will have a world class instrument. Lots of cool engraving. These horns are ready to go to work, well regulated in proper playing order, fully checked by pros here in Los Angeles. There is a generic mouthpiece, cordura case and Yamaha cork grease. The alto sax, a hallmark of Jazz, if you wanna play, here is an instrument that will give you a serious edge, the RsR Jazz model alto. Two week trial, if returned we refund the purchase price.
