Up for bid is a 16 in. Fairchild 530A 16 in.Transcription Turntable..These are very good units for playing  78 rpm and 33.3 rpm transcription records This  unit was made by the Fairchild Recording Equipment Corp. of Whitestone L.I. N.Y in the early 1950s.This is a three speed turntable 33.3 ,45, and 78 rpm. This unit is belt drive with three speed gear set, driving the heavy platter directly. Please note ...the belt for the 78 rpm speed is missing. Also the belts for the 45 and 33 rpm. speeds are showing their age and might need to be replaced soon . I replaced the start up capacitor and seems to start up with no problem now but please be aware that the motor might still need servicing.. The first photo of the strobe disc is running at 33.3 and the next one is running at 45 rpm. Comes with Cyclom 1800 rpm Synchronous Hysteresis Motor .The unit comes with a massive 16 in platter and  fly wheel. The flexible couplers on the drive shaft look very good . I have tested this unit with my Rec-o-Cut tone arm and after the unit warmed up  its speed was rate on as you can see from the photos of the strobe disc and performed with excellence and sounded grate. Please note .... This is a very heavy unit and will have to be shipped by a Fright Handler like FedX or the like . I can't really quote shipping till end of auction when I know where the unit is going .Also it will need a crate so count  on at least $100 for that.
