It's alive, it's alive! The Dreamcast is still alive! New shooter from the NG.DEV.TEAM (Last Hope, Pink Bullets and the guy who made Dux), converted from their recent Neo Geo MVS-only arcade game, which had the highest Meg count of any Neo Geo game.
Fast Striker is an great vertical shooter which feels like it was an unpublished and lost Neo Geo game from around 1998, which has suddenly been found! It somehow reminds me of Blazing Star, with it's impressive rendered animations for the ships and background and I guess something slightly Toaplaney, maybe Vimana or something like that, but with slightly more serious bullet numbers and patterns.
The backgrounds are quite dark and colourless which was obviously intentional, to give the game a sort of space-industrial look. I'm trying to find parallels with other games and keep thinking of Alpha Mission II but really, it reminds me a lot more of the 'wow' level from Blazing Star (level 2?)... the depth created by the renderings is excellent. The colours in the game come mostly from the enemies, which are also superbly animated, and the enemy fire.
The game is pretty difficult and you have to be on guard every second of the way, but it's not frustratingly hard. When you die, you continue right where you left off, rather than being set back, so it's nicely progressive, and there's 3 continues should you want to use them.
Overall, this is an excellent addition to the Dreamcast's superb and wonderfully varied shooter library. If you've been dieting on nothing but Cave shooters for the last couple of years, obviously there's going to be a period of adjustment to the more punishing hit-box of your ship and older, purer style of gameplay. I hope that doesn't put anyone off though as I'm very happy that this game got released on the DC, rather than simply staying in it's original 2010 MVS format. While it does feel like it comes from a slightly different age, it's like being reacquainted with an old friend, one who is giving me a bit of a kicking but keeps asking me to come back and play!

Fast Striker 1.5 Limited Edition features different box artwork and an additional soundtrack CD with original and arranged music tracks. The soundtrack includes 4 exclusive tracks. As with Dux, the Limited Edition is shrinkwrapped-sealed (the regular edition is factory sealed, as with the regular edition of Dux).
This package includes BOTH the normal version (1st print) AND limited edition (different box artwork) and TWO big A1 posters (594 x 841mm each) which are limited edition. Also included is a nice a double-sided A4 MVS Fast Striker Flyer. The posters are beautifully printed and look great, especially the Limited Edition poster, which is incredibly sharp and detailed.
Posters will be sent in their own strong cardboard poster tube.

Within the UK, I will use 1st Class Recorded Delivery for £7.50 or Interlink courier delivery for £7.50 which is guaranteed next day except Saturday. You should get an email from Interlink on the morning of the delivery advising of a 1 hour delivery time slot. Please ignore the basic 2nd class postage option. I don't want to send it that way but I had to add it as an opiton due to ebay's Draconian postage rules for certain categories.
