Once an architect, Frank Bannister now pretends to be an exorcist who can rid homes of evil spirits. He claims his psychic abilities began after a car accident killed his wife, but his scheme takes a dangerous turn when people in his small town begin dying.
Michael J. Fox stars as Frank, who uses his ghostly friends to trick unsuspecting locals. As he investigates the mysterious deaths, Frank falls for the wife of one of the victims and faces a determined FBI agent. He soon discovers that a malevolent spirit is behind the killings—and that stopping it means confronting his own haunted past.
Directed by Peter Jackson, The Frighteners blends suspense, dark humor, and groundbreaking visual effects in a spooky, offbeat cult classic.
